Language and prevailing version

This Cookie Policy was originally drafted in Portuguese for the Brazilian market. This English version is provided so that English-speaking users, creators and partners can read the same policy, and it reproduces the Portuguese text in full, with the same section numbering.

The Portuguese version remains the governing version. This Policy is governed by and interpreted under Brazilian law, and in the event of any divergence, conflict or doubt as to interpretation between the two versions, the Portuguese text prevails.

This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar technologies are, how Triboo uses them, which categories exist, the legal basis for each one, and how the user can accept, reject or change their choices at any time.

This Policy complements Triboo's Privacy Policy, which describes in general terms how we process personal data.

1. What cookies and similar technologies are

Cookies are small text files stored in the browser when the user accesses a website. They are used, for example, to keep the session alive, remember preferences and protect the account.

This Policy also applies to technologies with an equivalent function, such as browser local storage (localStorage and sessionStorage), pixels, tags, SDKs and device identifiers. Wherever this document says "cookies", it refers to those technologies as well.

Cookies may be:

  • First-party or third-party, depending on whether they are set by Triboo or by another service;
  • Session or persistent, depending on whether they are deleted when the browser closes or remain for a defined period.

2. Scope

This Policy applies to Triboo's domains and applications, including the triboo.net.br domain and its subdomains, the public pages, the community pages and the logged-in area.

It does not apply to third-party sites, platforms or tools reached through links published by creators or members. Those services have their own policies.

3. Cookie categories we use

CategoryWhat it is forRequires consent?Legal basis
Strictly necessaryKeep the session alive, protect login, complete sign-up, remember the cookie choice, remember the language, theme and time zone used to display the platform and event times, remember the notices the user has already closed, and remember the choice to see a community in its original languageNoPerformance of a contract and legitimate interest
Embedded contentLoad third-party videos published in communities, such as YouTube and Vimeo videos, which may set their own cookiesYesConsent

Strictly necessary cookies cannot be turned off from the banner, because without them the platform does not work, is not secure or does not display the language and times correctly. The language, theme and time zone cookies store only the choice made, without identifying the user, and are not used to measure use or for advertising.

Embedded content stays off until the user chooses.

Triboo does not use analytics, performance or advertising cookies. If it starts using them, it will update this Policy and will only turn them on after the user consents.

4. Cookie inventory

All of them are first-party cookies, valid for the whole site and protected against being sent by other sites (SameSite=Lax). The triboo_session, triboo_oauth_state and triboo_pending_signup cookies cannot be read by scripts on the page (HttpOnly).

The platform also keeps four markers in the browser's local storage (localStorage): three remember notices already seen and one remembers a display choice. They do not identify the user, are not used to measure use, and stay in the browser until the user clears the site's data. Triboo does not use sessionStorage.

MarkerPurpose
Content-language introductionRemember that the user has already seen the introduction to the content language
Access-tier-ended noticeRemember, per community, that the user has already closed the notice that their access tier ended
Course noticeRemember, per course, that the user has already closed that course's notice
Original-language choiceRemember, per community, whether the user chose to see community content in its original language instead of the automatic translation

4.2 Embedded content

SupplierWhen it loadsCookiesSupplier's policy
YouTube (Google)Only after the user accepts the embedded content category or clicks to load that videoSet by the supplier itself, with names and retention periods it may changepolicies.google.com/privacy
VimeoOnly after the user accepts the embedded content category or clicks to load that videoSet by the supplier itself, with names and retention periods it may changevimeo.com/privacy

Triboo does not control those cookies. YouTube and Vimeo act as independent controllers, under their own policies.

Triboo will keep this inventory up to date whenever it adds, removes or replaces a tool that uses cookies.

5. Third-party cookies

Every cookie set by Triboo is first-party, on the triboo.net.br domain. The only third-party cookies that may be set on Triboo's pages are those of the embedded content described in section 4.2, and only after the user's choice.

When the user signs in with their Google account or completes a payment on a payment provider's page, those services may set cookies on their own domains, under their own policies. The list of Triboo's suppliers is set out in section 9 of the Privacy Policy.

Where the platform allows a creator to add their own tracking technologies to the community's pages, those technologies will follow the same categories and banner choices, and the creator will be responsible for that processing as a controller.

5.1 E-mails

E-mails sent by Triboo contain no pixels to measure opens and no trackable links to measure clicks. If that changes, this Policy will be updated first.

6. How to manage your choices

6.1 Cookie banner

On first access, Triboo displays a banner with the following options:

  • Accept all — turns on every category;
  • Reject non-essential — keeps only the strictly necessary cookies;
  • Customize — lets the user choose category by category.

The option to reject is available from the first level of the banner and takes the same number of clicks as accepting. No optional category comes pre-selected.

Even without accepting the embedded content category, the user can load a specific video by clicking the option to load that video.

6.2 Preference center

The user can change their choices at any time at triboo.net.br/cookie-preferences, without having to contact support. Withdrawing consent is as simple as giving it, and it applies to future processing.

6.3 Browser settings

The user can also block or delete cookies directly in the browser. That option is independent of Triboo and may affect other sites. Blocking strictly necessary cookies through the browser may prevent login and stop the platform from working.

7. What happens if the user rejects

Rejecting non-essential cookies does not prevent account creation, access to the platform, participation in communities or subscribing to a plan.

The only difference is that third-party videos embedded in communities are not loaded automatically. The user can load each video whenever they want. No essential feature is conditioned on acceptance.

8. Recording and renewing consent

For each choice, Triboo records the version of the text presented, the categories accepted and refused, the date and time, the collection source and proportionate technical evidence, and keeps the history of choices without overwriting earlier records.

Consent will be requested again when:

  • there is a relevant change in categories, purposes or suppliers;
  • a new purpose not covered by the previous choice is added;
  • 12 (twelve) months have passed since the last statement of choice.

9. Minors

Triboo V1 is intended exclusively for people aged 18 or over. Triboo does not use cookies to target advertising at children or adolescents.

10. Changes to this Policy

Triboo may update this Policy to reflect technical, legal or supplier changes. When a change requires a new statement of choice from the user, the banner will be displayed again before the new purpose is applied.
